I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.Heather was dealing with the death of her parents in a bank robbery, she up and shifted in a desolate area wanting peace and quiet. Rex is her nearest neighbour, a billionaire living in the sticks and computes to the office in a helicopter as he likes peace and quiet too. Heather meets Rex when she is on the side of the road looking for directions to her new home. He also tries to help her out when her car battery dies and takes her shopping for supplies when she is waiting for her car to be fixed. A day out shopping leads to a dinner together, but Rex feels they are moving too fast, he isn’t after one night stands. They soon get together and Rex takes Heather into the city for a dinner. They get mugged and Heather has anxiety over it. Heather backs of thinking that she can’t continue with Rex’s lifestyle. Does Rex convince Heather to give them another go? Do they get their HEA?

Heather was dealing with tragedy in her family she couldn't handle so she ran. Found a cabin in the country to hide out in then she met her next door neighbour Rex very wealthy sexy, powerful, irresistable man she was a little leary not sure about trusting him. I voluntarily reviewed a Copy if this book Piper did a great job writting this the story was about heartache, love and forgiveness. The chemistry between Rex and Heather was so sweet and hot and sexy I highly recommend to read to find out how things turn out you won't be disappointed.
The Middle of Nowhere by Piper Phoenix is a NA contemporary romance that tells a sweet story about Heather and learning to live and love after her parents tragic death and dealing with the PTSD. Sexy, billionaire Rex is just the person to do that.
These characters where so well written and so well suited together and so real. This is the first book I've read of Pipers and I can't wait to read more. Is found the characters, storyline and pace perfect and I couldn't put it down.

The writing is very descriptive and successful at expressing the characters’ emotions. We meet Heather who is starting a new life after the loss of her parents. The story is told from her POV. She’s cautious, nervous around strangers and owns a shotgun so something must have happened but what? Her closest neighbor is the very attractive and friendly Rex. What I like about Rex is that he’s a gentleman, he’s patient, and he shares her need for privacy. He doesn’t ask any questions regarding her behavior - I don’t know how believable that is. Maybe because he has a few secrets of his own? This is a sweet insta-lust/love story with more complexity than usual. Worth a read for the love scenes, romantic male and a HEA.

I voluntarily review an ARC of this book. I enjoy reading Piper Phoenix books and this one was no exception. The book has drama, emotions, tragedy, sex lots of sex and so much more.
Heather Perry lost her parents in a bank robbery, and is dealing with the issue. She is full of anxiety and is afraid of her own shadow. She sells the house and with her heritance she buys a cabin out in the country it's in a desolate area wanting peace and quiet. She pulls over on her way to the cabin since there are no streets and no GPS to look at her map. There is tapping on her car window that scared the $hit out of her. It's a guy a very handsome guy offering her assistance he gives her directions within 10 minutes she at her cabin.
Rex Gates is her nearest neighbor and also happens to be the handsome guy who helped Heather with the directions to the cabin her new home. He is a billionaire living in the country and on occasions computes to the work via a helicopter. He likes the peace and quiet too.
The same day Rex stops by the cabin to welcome Heather to the neighborhood and brings her banana bread that he baked himself. She answers the door with a shot gun in her hand after undoing multiple locks on the door. Next day she needs to go to the store and get supplies she's running out of food. Unfortunately her car won't start. She contacts the mechanic but he can't make it for a couple days. She see Rex out on the lake and asks if he knows anything about cars. He checks her car out turns out her car battery is dead. He offers to take her to town for supplies. A day out shopping leads to a dinner together and they both feel that there is something magnetic pulling them together neither one of them has ever felt like that before. Their kissing and things start to get heated Rex pulls away not wanting it to move too fast, he isn’t after a one night stand. Rex wants to take Heather to his favorite Chinese place for a dinner that is in the city. They take the helicopter and lands on the Gates Corporation Building. There on the roof in the corner he has his favorite Chinese food and the chef is there to cook for them. She is so impressed. They hookup on the roof under the stars and clear night air. After they stay in the city over night at his apartment and next day go to the movies and just spend the day enjoying each other's company . On the way back to Gates Corporation Building t go home they get mugged and Heather is held hostage as the mugger demands money Rex throws his wallet and as the mugger goes to retrieve it Rex hits him and knocks him out. This is to much anxiety and Heather is stressing out over it. She ends up shutting out Rex. He has no idea what is going on. In the mean time Heather's Aunty was in a car accident she drives all the way back to the city which is a 6 hour or so drive. Heather stays in the city as her Aunt is healing and on the mends. Will Heather be able to move on or will she continue to be living in isolation? Can she continue with Rex’s lifestyle? Or can Rex convince Heather to give them another go?
